Waiting Room is the story of Kay’s time at the boundary between life and death and the place where she spent that time.
"Ellen Jacob's highly unusual installation, which I have seen,
is a courageous look at how a courageous woman died in a nursing home
on New York's Upper West Side. But I think it is also about the
fundamental courage required from each of us to sustain our lives in the
face of such vast uncertainty and, finally, to wait for the end without
losing ourselves in that uncertainty. What I see in this work—in the
photos and quotes and reconstructions of the environment—is that Kay
remained Kay throughout her waiting." – Kirk Cheyfitz, CEO Story Worldwide
