Elizabeth- thank you for your blog. These are phenomenal-the light in the first one is? The subjects look set onto the settings- I get the feeling of timelessness and history. I blabber on with your posts- trying to figure it out- I wish there was a blogger chat line- ye gads!
I am going to check out more of his photographs Is there a definitive book of his photos. G.
There are at least 10 books! You may recognize many of the iconic images we've seen on the covers of National Geographic over the years.
These are amazing photographs- i didn't realize, that Steve McCurry's photographs often were (and are I'm guessing) published in NG.
These are some amazing photographs. I really appreciate your site and what you bring to the blogger world. I feel like I am always learning something new, and I love that! I love to learn.
It will be interesting to follow your blog of photographers. My favorite from the past is Walker Evans and I have discovered some of the current ones like Jeff Wall and his staged photography. I will look forward to finding more photographers here.
As a designer, I always was inspired by the textiles of Africa. How I would love a tunic and small pouch they carry. They look as if they are on a mission - Steve has captured their united force.

E. Do you have any idea which of his books (if any) has the Jodhpur (1st image) in it. I just got the South Southeast and love it. pgt
little augury pgt, I'll let you know when I receive the answer. His work IS spectacular, impressive, awesome, beautiful!
Answer regarding the image in Jodhpur: "It is fairly new...sadly it has not been printed in any of Steve's books. I will certainly suggest it to Steve for his next book though. I agree it is an amazing image."
